Most people know that they need to see Niagara Falls when visiting Canada, but what other places in the country should you make sure that you travel to? Here are three of them:

1. The Discovery Islands in British Columbia

If you're looking for a hidden gem, then you've found it with the Discovery Islands, which consist of several islands, including Cortes, Maurelle, Quadra and Read Islands. Here, you will find anything imaginable, from lush forests and an endless ocean view to beautiful beaches and majestic mountains. Whether you want to relax on the shoreline or you prefer to partake in outdoor adventures, such as scuba diving, hiking, kayaking or fishing, you will be able to do it all.

2. Churchill in Manitoba

If your primary reasons for visiting Canada include catching sight of a few polar bears as well as a beluga whale or two, then Churchill, Manitoba, is where you need be. In Canada, and the world, this is one of the few places where you can actually come face-to-face with a polar bear after the bay water freezes as they perch up on the ice and hunt for food. When the ice breaks, you will realize your chance of seeing one or more of the thousands of beluga whales that live in the Churchill River. Plus, it is one of the best places in the entire world to see the beautiful and natural Northern Lights up close and personal. The best time to see the Northern Lights is between January and March when the winter skies are mostly clear and pitch-black. So, in a nutshell, travel to Canada in the winter if you want to see polar bears and the Northern Lights, but wait until summer if you want to see the belugas.

3. Tofino in British Columbia

If you're looking for a location in Canada that has a little bit of laid-back things to do as well as lots of adventures, then Tofino may be a good bet. You can engage in storm watching between November and February or experience the extravagant Hot Springs Cove. If you're planning a family trip with the kids and want to make sure they learn something over the course of the trip, there are plenty of suitable educational opportunities, including the Tofino Botanical Gardens, ancient sculptures and the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Before you head to Canada, make sure to book your accommodations at a motel in the vicinity of where you'll be traveling to ensure that you have a guaranteed place to stay. To learn more, contact a motel like Westward Inn & Suites hotel
